Grief
Grieving is a part of being human. Moving through those Kubler-Ross stages is at times circular, at times moving backwards and on repeat, navigating the pain towards elusive acceptance. I had a health crisis in 2021, diagnosed with a rare type of cancer and subsequently underwent two surgeries. I was in fact bereft and literally found myself on my knees asking “Now what are we gonna do…?”

Left but not forgotten Acrylic on cradled panel 14” X 14” 2025 This small painting packs a big punch. A generational loop of literally being left, my mom as a young girl abandoned in many small and huge ways. This story of abandonment carries a weight and expectation, a pattern, into the future. How do any of us remember that we are never forgotten from the soul's perspective?
