Justice for Annas

This series of four paintings are a tribute to both of my grandmothers, Suzanna and Anna. I was reflecting on the way that they were not able, due to expectations and upbringing and the safety and rules within patriarchal cultures. I wanted to give them freedom to express their feelings. I wanted to give them the playfulness of the rabbit ears, the sensuality of the tight form fitting dresses.
